Once upon a time, I used to write an annual post on my favorite albums and songs of the previous year. But since I am going to be doing this blog titles “Dad’s Shop Tunes” I figured this would be a worthy replacement and a good way to share the music that moved me last year.

So this week I’m writing about someone I discovered late last year, and that’s Possessed by Paul James and his wonderful album, As We Go Wandering.  It seems like at least once a year I discover some artist that’s been cranking out albums for years, and it provides me with the reaction of “How in the world did I not know about this person?!” And in 2020 that was Possessed By Paul James.  He’s been putting out albums for over a decade, and I only just now found out about him.

With his 2020 record, As We Go Wandering, PBPJ (way shorter to type) created a beautiful record that I find myself going back to time and time again. And not just that, but it’s one of those records I can listen to in its entirety and not skip a single song. My favorite track on the record is “When it Breaks,” and this wonderful video is definitely worth your time and as an addition to any recent playlist you have:
