Merry Sithmas everyone! I have always wanted to do a Star Wars themed Christmas yard display and my wife gave me the green light! So I used some 1/4″ plywood to cut out a couple AT-AT’s, a Star Destroyer, and Darth Vader as Santa. This is a super-easy project that you can do with only a jigsaw (I did use other tools in this video, but I don’t think you really have to). And if you’re not into Star Wars, I suppose you could make an actual Santa Clause.
I’m not sure it’s evident in the video, but I used epoxy to attach the PVC pipe (7/8″) to the back of each piece. A couple failed once the wind picked up, so I added some drywall srews and used a Sharpie to black out the screw heads. On Darth and the Star Destroyer I had already put drywall screws in through the piece and the pipe so that the rebar would stop and actually make those pieces appear to float.
Cheers! And Merry Sithmas, Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays!
