I bought my boys lightsabers at Savi’s Workshop in Galaxy’s Edge, and I’ve been terrified ever since that they were going to break them. So I wanted to make a display holder for each saber that looked worthy of how awesome these lightsabers are. Each type of lightsaber comes with a sweet looking pin, so I wanted to make a display that matched the look of the pin. This is my attempt at making holders to match the “Elemental Nature” and “Protection and Defense” pins. Each display has a shelf to not only hold the saber, but also has a spot for the Sith and Jedi holocrons. They also have a mini-shelf with holes for holding kyber crystals.

Elemental Nature

I used some scrap pine that I had laying around, and used my bandsaw and scrollsaw to cut it to shape and cut holes. I filled the holes with green tinted resin, and backlit the display with neon green lights, attaching them with coax cable staples.

Protection and Defense

I used a pine 1×4 that I ripped down to smaller sections. I formed a triangle and made several inner layers to make it look like the pin that came with the lightsaber. I used my bandsaw to cut the really small pieces between the layers and wood-glued everything in place. I then filled the holes with resin epoxy, using Tuck Tape as a backer to keep the resin within the holes. I used Black Diamond Imperial Iridescent Blue pigment for coloring, and even some Ghost Blue Pearl to add some depth. I used blue neon lights on the back, attaching them the same why as the previous display.
